Topic: Quick overview of Fiber Basics, IBYC Inspect before you connect, PON/CWDM & DWDM overview, OTDR fundamentals, and Hands-On: OTDR, Power Meter, Visual Fault Locator, and Fiber Scopes (Standard and MPO)

Speaker: Jeff Harmon, Sr. Systems Engineer for Viavi Solutions has worked in the telecommunications industry for 38 years.  Sixteen plus years with AT&T and the Bell System including two years at Bell Core. He graduated from California Coast University with bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  He’s been with Viavi Solutions formerly JDSU, Acterna and TTC since Jan of 96.  He’s currently working and supporting Viavi’s fiber optic test equipment portfolio.  He has extensive field expertise in Fiber optic testing among many other technologies and protocols.  Jeff has a knack for simplifying difficult technologies, systems, and testing and make them relevant so that solutions can be established to solve customer problems.
